Founded with purpose
Founded by Roshane Ellington, the foundation is rooted in a simple belief: when people are given support, resources, and opportunity, lives can change for generations.
Born and raised in Jamaica, Roshane immigrated to the United States at 19 on an athletic scholarship. Her journey taught her the power of perseverance, education, community, and creating pathways for others. Those values now guide the work of the foundation.
Inspired by Kathleen Maud Onfroy
Roshane created the foundation to honor her grandmother, Kathleen Maud Onfroy, whose life was marked by generosity, unwavering faith, resilience, and compassion for others.
Kathleen’s example continues to shape the foundation’s mission: to radiate kindness in practical, meaningful ways that uplift people and strengthen communities.
Focused on lasting impact
Today, the Kathleen Maud Onfroy Foundation is focused on expanding access to resources, supporting educational opportunities, and helping communities move forward with dignity and hope.
We believe our prime purpose is to help others whenever we can and, when we cannot help, to ensure that we do no harm.
